What Is Considered Feminine Clothing?
When it comes to feminine clothing, it's pretty much any style that highlights the natural female form.
Or in other words, feminine clothes will highlight your God-given femininity.
Oftentimes, dresses are considered the most feminine piece of clothing because most dresses are flattering to the woman’s body.
But blouses, trousers, and skirts can be also be feminine depending on how you style them. And how you style them is based on your feminine figure, or body type (ie apple, pear, hourglass, rectangle, or inverted triangle).
And when it comes to dressing more feminine, the goal is to style your bodytype to resemeble a feminine bodytype, or the hourglass.
Let’s say you are a pear. You’re likely smaller in the chest with a larger, or more defined waist and hips. So, when it comes to feminine clothing, you’re likely going to choose styles that will bring more attention to your chest to your waist and hips (tops with lace or ruffles and high waisted skirts) to create that hourglass image.
(by the way, if you want to read more about how to dress more feminine, we go into the bodytype in greater detail. Click here to read more)
And this is where so many people go wrong when trying to dress more feminine. They falsely assume it's a dress or a crop top that makes a woman look more womanly.
And while there are some clothes more feminine than others, it comes down to your bodytype.
We’ve seen tons of classy fashion influencers sponsored by large fast fashion companies wearing trends that are not feminine and does not align with their natural body.
One example that comes to mind was this beautiful classy influencer, with a pear-shaped body, wear a black and white color block mini dress (ie the top was black and the mini skirt was white).
Well, her waist and hips were definitely the focus of the video and unfortunately the outfit looked jarring and tacky.
Her comments were filled with people praising her but hating the outfit which devolved into to a conversation about race.
And as our team looked at it, it was clear that the particular dress did not flatter her bodytype.
That dress would have probably worked for an inverse triangle or an hourglass shaped woman.
And this is the important. The job of feminine clothes is to accentuates your natural feminine silhouette.
Now, I'd also like to make two small points.
1. Feminine clothes, dressing femininely, or femininity is not being subordinate to men.
Femininity and feminine fashion is all about celebrating the God-given differences between men and women.
And rather than celebrate these differences, our society wants to mute them - stating that men and women are equal and interchangeable.
And if you appreciate the differences, you can be abled as suffering from "internal misogynistic"
But that is furtherest from the truth.
You were purposefully designed as a woman by a loving God, and we select our styles to help you celebrate that.
After all the differences between men and women should be cherished and celebrated, not disguised or demonized.
2. Being feminine is more than just dressing up.
Yes, this is controversial for a feminine clothing brand to say, but just by wearing a pretty dress does not make you feminine or womanly.
What good quality feminine clothes do is bring out your inherently feminine features.
So, by being born a woman, you are inherently feminine - despite your bodytype.
And all our clothes does is accentuate those features and celebrates them.
How does feminine clothes make you more feminine?
And here's what makes our brand different is that we are a feminine clothing store - we specialize in feminine clothes.
And so we work with a handful of independent designers who meet our strict criteria so that we can serve you with truly feminine clothes.
And while dressing feminine largely depends on your bodytype, there are some cuts that are universally feminine because they inherently bring out your feminine features.
So we build collections around those styles, making sure we have pieces that complement each other.
And rather than just buying a wide variety of cheap clothes to copy trends, we focus on timeless styles that will have you looking classy and feminine effortlessly.
For example, our current fall collection features our sleeveless classy bodycon dress.
In this same collection, we have our slim-fit crop knit blazer and kitten heels, perfect pieces to add to the bodycon dress for an elevated office look.
Or to wear with your favorite jeans for an every day feminine look or trousers for another office look.
And this is the reason why our customers love capsule collections because they make it easy to wear and easy to style. Each piece is hand-selected for quality and timeless. We're not fast fashion, churning cheap pieces to chase trends, rather we’re timeless fashion.
Kind of like good wine, meant to age with character...
We also survey our customers to get an idea of their body types and what they're currently struggling with to help us hand-select our styles and build collections.
